On 5 April 2008 at the District 1 meeting at Post 1650 Topeka, Department of Kansas Commander Doug Musick presents Post 9271 Commander Elmer Tanking with an award for 17 straight years of 100% membership. The longest streak in Kansas.

On 24 June 2008 the concrete path to the bridge was completed. In the photo Larry Meadows is constructing the forms for the path.

On 14 June 2008 Comrades of Post 9271 conducted a rifle salute and taps ceremony to honor Flag Day. Approximately 150 visitors were on hand for the Tonganoxie Days Car and Tractor Show. Senior Vice Commander Rick Thompson gave a short speech on the importance of honoring our flag.

Leavenworth County Fair 2008
